Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander is currently at the Winter Olympics, and with Team Sweden about to play its first game, things are taking a turn.

William Nylander is one of the best players in the NHL, and because of that, he earned a roster spot with Team Sweden at the Winter Olympics.
Sweden is about to kick off its tournament on Wednesday, and there is quite a bit of fanfare surrounding this. With Nylander paired up with Adrian Kempe and Joel Eriksson Ek, there is no denying that some blistering offense is upon us.
However, Nylander is coming into the Olympics with a bit of an injury issue. If you remember, he has dealt with a groin injury this season, and it has hampered his ability to remain on the ice.

William Nylander misses practice with Team Sweden

According to Mark Masters of TSN, the concerns are mounting as Nylander was not on the ice for Team Sweden's practice today.
Swedish head coach Sam Hallam commented on the matter, noting that Nylander is doing just fine right now. It's a maintenance day, although his status on Wednesday is a bit up in the air.
It a maintenance thing. He’s done two full practices with us & felt after yesterday a bit sore so just give him an extra day. We’ll see for tomorrow if he’s ready to go or it’s going to be a pretty late decision.
Overall, Team Sweden and the Toronto Maple Leafs cannot afford for William Nylander to be dealing with an injury right now. It is the worst time for that.
This is a situation that everyone is just going to have to monitor going forward. Injuries at the Olympics are nothing new, and the players were aware of the risks.
For now, it doesn't seem as though Nylander is in real danger, but the existence of this story is sure to frustrate Maple Leafs fans.
