Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to defeat the Florida Panthers and officially get themselves out of last place in the Atlantic Division.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are currently in last place in the Atlantic Division, although they are just a few points out of a playoff spot.
A win tonight would leapfrog the Leafs into sixth place, and it would put the Panthers down into last place, which would be some nice playoff revenge.
Going into this game, the Leafs are going to be playing Joseph Woll as their starting goalie. As for the Panthers, fans have been waiting for their decision.
Sergei Bobrovsky starts against the Toronto Maple Leafs
As it turns out, the starting goaltender is going to be none other than Sergei Bobrovsky, who has won two straight Stanley Cups with the team.
What is particularly interesting here is the fact that Bobrovsky has not been particularly good this season. He has a goals-against average of 2.88 and a save percentage of .882.
This is good news for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who can take advantage of the fact that Bobrovsky is not having one of the best seasons of his career.
At the end of the day, the Leafs actually have to show up to play, and they cannot rely on their opponent having themselves a bad game.
With that in mind, we are very excited to see what the Maple Leafs are able to do in tonight's game, especially with a pretty solid lineup being put together.
As for Bobrovsky, he is one of the best goalies of his generation, and the Leafs can never be too cocky about a guy on the decline.
Bob can still steal you a game, and the Florida Panthers will be looking for that tonight.
