The Toronto Maple Leafs would love a forward like Jason Robertson on their team, and a new trade proposal sees the Dallas Stars getting a lot in return.
Jason Robertson is a player that the Toronto Maple Leafs have reportedly had their eyes on for a while now, and for good reason.
He has 62 points in 53 games this season, and he is certainly someone who could change this team's fortunes for the better.
Furthermore, Robertson is going into a contract year, and there is a sense that the Dallas Stars are not going to be able to bring him back.
With that in mind, there has been quite a bit of speculation about a trade, and what the Maple Leafs would have to do to make such a deal happen.
Jason Robertson would cost the Maple Leafs a lot
One fan on social media is getting some heat from Leafs fans for suggesting that the team could acquire Robertson by trading Bobby McMann and Brandon Carlo.
This deal would fit some real needs for the Stars, although it just feels way too good to be true. A real armchair GM opinion.
Move Carlo + McMann to Dallas for Robertson.
McMann will cost them 5M at most while still potting 25-30 goals, they'll get that RHD they need, and the Leafs get a top 6 winger.

At the end of the day, there is going to have to be some soul-searching done; otherwise, this season could get out of hand.
The Leafs are not good right now. With this roster, they are not sniffing the postseason.
However, there is no denying that trading for Robertson could activate the fanbase and potentially help save the season on the ice. Whether or not McMann and Carlo gets it done remains to be seen.
