Going into tomorrow night's game against the St. Louis Blues, the Toronto Maple Leafs need some offense, and a Toronto Marlies player is getting an opportunity.
The Toronto Marlies have some studs right now, including 23-year-old forward Jacob Quillan, who got to play one game with the Leafs last season.
After a solid season with the Marlies in 2024-25, Quillan has taken his game to new heights. He has 14 points in the first 14 games, and it feels as though he is going to be an NHLer very soon.
While the Maple Leafs are a bit crowded, if they end up making some space in the bottom six, we could certainly see Quillan get a huge opportunity.
Speaking of opportunities, the Maple Leafs are banged up right now, and as a result, it has forced the team into making some big moves as far as the roster is concerned.
Toronto Maple Leafs bring up Jacob Quillan
Earlier this morning, Leafs PR on Twitter made it clear that Brandon Carlo was being placed on the injured reserve, retroactive to last Thursday.
Meanwhile, there was good news ahead for Quillan, who would be called up and used as the team's 13th forward from here on out.
Depending on how things go, Quillan could end up in the lineup this week, especially if the Maple Leafs begin to suffer more injuries.
The team is currently in the midst of a five-game losing streak, and there is no denying that the fans are hoping for something good to finally happen.
Perhaps Quillan could kickstart this team and give them a nice injection of offense that has been lacking for much of the season thus far.
