The Toronto Maple Leafs have struggled with injuries throughout the first half of the NHL season, and defenseman Brandon Carlo has been looking to make his return.

Brandon Carlo is one of the best and most important defensemen on the Toronto Maple Leafs. Unfortunately, he has been out for over a month with an injury.
He recently needed to get surgery to fix an ailment, and that has left him in a difficult position, where he must now ramp up his on-ice training to make a comeback.
The Maple Leafs have a back-to-back this weekend with the Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings. Carlo is not expected to return for these games.
However, on Saturday morning, the Maple Leafs did get some good news involving Carlo that should excite the fanbase.

Brandon Carlo shows up to Maple Leafs morning skate

According to reporter David Alter, Brandon Carlo was on the ice this morning, where he could be seen getting work in with Dakota Mermis.
While there is no exact timeline for Carlo's return, it remains crystal clear that he is at least progressing and that we could see him back very soon.
With Chris Tanev returning to the lineup, it seems like the Maple Leafs are starting to get healthy again, which could be a sign of good things to come.
The Leafs have struggled throughout the first half of the season, but it is important to remember that this team has dealt with an absurd number of injuries.
If the Leafs can get their best players healthy again, then perhaps they will start to finally string together some wins during an important moment in the season.
The recent development involving Carlo can only mean good things. That said, Leafs fans should only expect him to return in the New Year.
