The Toronto Maple Leafs are dealing with a plethora of injuries right now, with Scott Laughton and Nicolas Roy going in entirely different directions right now.
Since coming to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Nicolas Roy has certainly had his fair share of struggles, nothing just four points through 19 games.
Now, he is the latest Maple Leafs forward to catch the injury bug. The forward did not play on Tuesday night, and he is not in the lineup again tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
It's yet another setback for this team, which is dealing with injuries to guys like Matthew Knies, Auston Matthews, Chris Tanev, Brandon Carlo, and more.
Nicolas Roy hits injured reserve
Prior to tonight's game, the Maple Leafs had to make a difficult decision involving Nicolas Roy, which just goes to show where the team is right now.
He was officially placed on the injured reserve. Meanwhile, Scott Laughton was taken off the injured reserve and is playing tonight.
While the Leafs are certainly facing some setbacks right now, there are some positives that are going down, which is nice.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have a lot to think about going forward, and we wonder how this is all going to shake out. Firstly, they need their players back.
When this team is fully healthy, it is actually quite good. We've seen some solid games from the team, and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
If you are a fan of the Leafs, there have been some dark times this season, but that doesn't mean the whole season has to be like that.
As it stands, the Leafs are losing 1-0 to the Columbus Blue Jackets, which is not a great sign of things to come.
