Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll has been out for a week with a lower-body injury, and soon, the team will be getting its goaltender back.

Joseph Woll has been one of the best goalies in the league this season, when he is healthy. During his stint with the Leafs this season, he was a huge reason behind their resurgent success.
Unfortunately, he got injured against the Carolina Hurricanes, and it has put the Maple Leafs in a very awkward spot as Dennis Hildeby and Artur Akhtyamov are between the pipes.
The Leafs have been hoping for Woll to get back in the lineup sooner rather than later, and it appears as though good news is, in fact, on the horizon.

Maple Leafs release statement on Joseph Woll

Woll was present at practice this morning, which is certainly a huge bonus. He has been ramping up his ice time, and that has led to a sense that he could return soon.
It was later revealed by Craig Berube that Woll might just end up playing on Tuesday night against the Chicago Blackhawks, as the Leafs look to bounce back from a bad game against the Edmonton Oilers.
There is no guarantee that Woll will play tomorrow, but this is still something to be excited about, given all of the injuries the team has gone through.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are in an interesting spot, as they are in sixth place in the Atlantic Division, and very clearly need to start playing better.
A proper starting goaltender would be a good start, even if Dennis Hildeby has done a good job in relief of Joseph Woll.
When Woll is between the pipes, the Leafs play with an extra layer of confidence, which is hard to ignore when you think about the results when he plays.
Only time will tell whether or not the Maple Leafs can get themselves back into a playoff spot, and if Joseph Woll will be the goalie to get them there.
