Team Canada is gearing up for the World Juniors, and with games set to begin on Friday, December 26th, the Toronto Maple Leafs will have some representation.

Ben Danford was the first-round pick for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, and he remains one of the team's most valuable prospects.
He is currently playing for the Brantford Bulldogs of the OHL, and in 15 games, he has picked up 12 points, which is a strong development for the defenseman.
Danford has been impressing the scouts, and as a result, he has been one of the finalists for a spot on Team Canada's World Juniors roster.
On Friday, the World Junior Championships are set to begin, and today, Team Canada unveiled its entire roster, which just so happens to contain Danford.

Ben Danford makes Team Canada

Ben Danford is likely going to be on the second or third defensive pairing, but that doesn't really matter. Making the roster is half the battle, and he's done it.
It just goes to show that the Leafs did well by selecting this young man, who now gets to represent his country, just like Easton Cowan did last year.
As many of you remember, Team Canada did not do well at last year's tournament, losing in the quarter-finals and failing to medal.
It was a bit of an embarrassment, and the fans have been hoping for this year's team to have a much better campaign. However, there is no guarantee that this will end up being the case.
The rest of the world is starting to catch up to Canada. While Canada is doing just fine with players from the ages of 25-40, there is no doubt that the other countries are dominating in the youth department.
Only time will tell whether or not Team Canada can overcome all of this, and put together a World Juniors to remember.
