William Nylander channels Mitch Marner with ridiculous comment about Leafs' losing streak

Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander had two points against the Montreal Canadiens, but it was not enough to overcome a terrible defensive performance.
The Toronto Maple Leafs completely embarrassed themselves on Saturday night as they got blown out by the Montreal Canadiens by a score of 5-2.
It was a terrible look for the Leafs, who did not play a good defensive game, especially throughout the second period, where the Canadiens dominated.
Joseph Woll was pulled from the game, although it was not his fault. Instead, head coach Craig Berube simply wanted to send a message to his team.
Meanwhile, there was at least one bright spot last night, with William Nylander notching a goal and an assist, bringing his totals up to 29 points in 19 games.

Unfortunately, despite his great game, Nylander couldn't help but deliver some tone deaf comments after the game, claiming that this loss builds character.
Mind you, the team has lost seven out of eight games. If they haven't built up character already, then there is a real issue out there.

You can't help but think about guys like Mitch Marner right now. Marner was one of those players who always put his foot in his mouth with the media.
Now, Nylander is doing the same thing, and it just goes to show that these guys just don't get it. They consistently say the wrong thing and preach mediocrity.
The team is out of a playoff spot right now, and they are desperate for wins. If a guy like Nylander can't show a bit of urgency, then the team is in a real shambolic state.
