Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander made a dumb mistake on Sunday, and now, there is a very good chance he ends up paying for it.
William Nylander has consistently been one of the best players on the Toronto Maple Leafs, but injuries have caught up to him this season.
Not to mention, he hasn't exactly been the smartest guy when it comes to his on-ice antics, and Sunday proved that to be the case.
As many of you already know, the forward flashed the middle finger to the camera while TSN was trying to film the press box.
The forward has since apologized for these actions, but that might be enough to let him off the hook with the NHL Department of Player Safety.

The NHL is looking at this William Nylander incident, per sources. It's possible the #leafs forward will face punishment for flipping the middle finger at the broadcast camera during today's game.

This move by Nylander was not particularly intelligent, and it is one of those things that is going to leave the fanbase completely angered.
Nylander needs to learn better impulse control; otherwise, this kind of thing is going to keep happening, and the league will be on his head.
It is unfortunate, to say the least. Head coach Craig Berube will have to have a chat with a member of his leadership group.
Only time will tell whether or not the NHL pursues more punishment here, or if they just end up letting this go entirely.
