According to Russian media outlet, Metaratings.ru, 2018 Stanley Cup champion Madison Bowey is heading to the KHL.

Bowey is reportedly close to signing a one-year deal with the KHL's lone team in Belarus, Dinamo Minsk, who's roster features former NHLers Gemel Smith, Nick Merkley, Alexander Volkov and Dylan Ferguson.

The 28-year-old was drafted 53rd overall by the Washington Capitals back in 2013 and spent parts of two seasons in the NHL with them. Because he met the regular season games played requirement, Bowey had his name engraved on the Stanley Cup following the Capitals' win in 2018.

Last season, Bowey played for the AHL's Laval Rocket while on a one-year, two-way deal with the Montreal Canadiens. In 35 games, the Winnipeg native put up 13 points (four goals, nine assists), 24 penalty minutes and was a minus-three.
