Frederic stands up for Patrice Bergeron and drops Pederson with one-punch (video)
During the second period of Thursday's game between Boston and Columbus, Blue Jackets forward Lane Pederson cross-checked Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron, receiving a two-minute minor on the play.
A short while later, Pederson was forced to drop the mitts with Bruins forward Trent Frederic as the latter was standing up for his captain. While fans were hoping for a long, spirited bout, Frederic dropped the Blue Jackets forward with one-punch, ultimately ending his night.
While it's nice to see Frederic wanting to stand up for his captain after a dangerous cross-check, we hope that Pederson is back and good to go for Columbus' next game on Saturday night!
