There was a time when Matt Rempe would take on any and all comers. It quickly became clear that if Rempe maintained that mindset that he'd have a very short NHL career. So after dropping the gloves with Ryan Reaves, Rempe has become much more selective.
Tonight Rempe once again showed off some of his newfound maturity when he made the decision to turn down a fight with Kurtis MacDermid. MacDermid is a legitimate heavyweight and one of the NHL's toughest customers, make this a very smart choice for Rempe.
It's nice to see this maturity in Rempe as he continues to grow. It's likely at some point tonight these two men drop the gloves, but it appears it will be on Rempe's terms and no one else's.
