Earlier today, the St. Louis Blues placed their 28 year-old defender, Calle Rosen on waivers.
Rosen went undrafted and was signed by the Toronto Maple Leafs out of the Swedish professional hockey league in 2017, and only appeared in 8 NHL games before being traded to Colorado in the deal that sent Nazem Kadri to the Avalanche.
Since then, Rosen signed as a free agent with St. Louis on a one year deal for $750,000. He's a decent depth defender who can play physically and move the puck well, but not much more than that.
Coincidentally, Rosen and Kadri were involved in the controversial play that knocked Jordan Binnington out of the series for St. Louis.
Rosen will now be eligible to play for the club's AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds, who are currently competing for the Calder Cup. After this year, Rosen will be a free agent.
