Camera captures Vancouver Canucks forward having a strange drink on the bench
Different players have different requests while on the players bench. While usually for most players that just includes a request for a particular flavor of BioSteel, for Andrei Kuzmenko it's not that simple. During last night's game between the Vancouver Canucks and Philadelphia Flyers, camera captures Kuzmenko having a special drink and a snack.
On the bench Kuzmenko can be seen holding a banana, something players will often eat throughout the game to fight off cramps. But while having the banana, Kuzmenko accompanied it with a drink in a BioSteel cup. However Kuzmenko's agent thought his client was drinking Tim Hortons coffee, he was reportedly actually drinking Pepsi.
You can see Elias Pettersson shake his head at his teammates choice, later confirming after the game that he'd asked Kuzmenko if he was drinking "coffee" to which he responded "no, Pepsi."
Elias Pettersson may not approve but Alex Ovechkin definitely would, as he has been known to keep a water bottle full of Pepsi on the players bench.
