Earlier today, the Montreal Canadiens issued a statement regarding the health concerns of franchise legend Guy Lafleur as he battled lung cancer.
Lafleur, 70 years of age, has been fighting stage four lung cancer since his diagnosis in September of 2019. Habs fans and hockey fans everywhere have reached out to support Lafleur, but with recent reports that his health has turned for the worse, the Canadiens organization have asked privacy for Lafleur.
Lafleur, born in Thurso, Quebec, had an incredible career spanning 1126 games and amassing 1353 points. With 5 Stanley Cups and multiple individual trophies, he was truly one of the greatest players of all time with the Canadiens dynasty teams.
We all wish the best to Lafleur and his family while remembering his greatness, and celebrating the person he is off the ice.
