David Pastrnak set to become one of the highest paid players
The Boston Bruins and star forward David Pastrnak have gone back and forth in recent weeks. At first it appeared that his time in Boston was coming to an end, then the two sides were meeting and now it appears that Pastrnak is set to cash in on his next deal.
According to Ty Anderson, of 98.5 The Sports Hub, the Bruins are ready to make Pastrnak the richest player in team history when he signs. From the sounds of it, a deal is in the works.
The Bruins have aspirations of writing David Pastrnak a blank cheque by the way people are talking. He absolutely deserves to get paid, but this the way to go about it? I'm not sure.
Pastrnak, 26, tallied 77 points in 72 games with the Bruins last season and has been their greatest current player for some time now.
This is the way the NHL is going , granted, but, how will teams be able to have a competitive roster if one player costs 20 or more of the current cap? I don't think they can
