Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for Hockey Canada, another shoe drops. The reckoning around hockey culture has begun and, it's only getting worse.
In the most recent sexual assault scandal revolving around Hockey Canada and its World Junior teams, an investigation has been opened as of today, this time revolving around the 2002-03 World Junior Team, and if that wasn't enough, a member of that team, Jordin Tootoo openly discusses the sexual assaults in his book which details that iteration of the World Junior Team, which you can read here:
The source who contacted Nater works in the hockey industry and said the video began with a Team Canada player standing outside of a room, answering questions as if he were doing a pre- game interview with the person holding the camera, who is not identified.
The player told the camera operator that viewers were about to see "a f---ing lamb roast," the three sources said.
After the hallway interview, the camera was then carried into a room with a pool table, the source said. The video shows roughly a half-dozen players taking turns having sex with a woman who was non-responsive and lying face up on the pool table, the source said.
Two sources said they watched the video on a VHS tape in an apartment in the spring of 2003.
The actions of Hockey Canada have been deplorable, so much so, in fact, the organization requires a complete purge of anyone involved in any cover up. Sexual assault has not only been permitted to carry on for some time under the HC umbrella but they have been covered up for decades and decades
