Evander Kane may have already found his next team
With NHL Free Agency less then 24 hours away teams are working hard to sign their remaining free agents. Teams are working to trade players before their no trade clause kicks in. In the next 18 hours expect a lot of big things to happen.
One of the biggest names available is pending unrestricted free agent and the highly controversial, Evander Kane. There is no secret Kane isn't well liked around the league and has a reputation to be a locker room cancer, but he can score goals.
However, when he puts all the off ice issues aside he's one hell of a hockey player when he put his mind to it. Just look at last season after being picked up by the Edmonton Oilers. Kane was a huge part of them making the playoffs and was the third best player in the playoffs next to Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid.
One team that looks to be very interested in Kane is the Washington Capitals. This would be huge as the Capitals are trying to build another Stanley Cup contender. Kane can had 22 goals and 17 assists in 43 games this season and had a sweet playoffs putting up 13 goals and 4 assists in 15 playoff games.
When Kane signed with the Oilers the only other team he considered signing with was the Washington Capitals so there is already a familiarity. The Oilers granted Kane permission to speak to other teams ahead of Free Agency so look for his deal to be done sooner than later once free agency opens.
