Although it's after the league's official trade deadline, trades are still eligible to happen, as we were reminded today. News broke earlier today that the Florida Panthers have traded prospect Cole Krygier to the Los Angeles Kings for future considerations.
Krygier, a 22 year old defenceman drafted by the Panthers in the seventh round of the 2018 draft, has spent the last four season with Michigan State University. In this his senior year, he's scored 10 goals and 16 points this season.
Coming out of college hockey now a free agent and expressing no desire to sign with the Panthers, the team moved him to the Kings for essentially nothing. While he isn't a big name now, it's a similar situation to Adam Fox, who demanded a trade out of Calgary after finishing his NCAA tenure.
