Former NHL player makes a bold statement about the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs
The Ottawa Senators have made headlines during this off-season. Pierre Dorion finally put on his General Manager cap and the team's new owners opened their wallets. This made Dorion's job much for easier and allowed them to acquire both Alex DeBrincat and Claude Giroux.
Now the question becomes, just how good are the Ottawa Senators? Well one former NHLer feels like they might be Ontario's best chance at a Stanley Cup. Matthew Barnaby, veteran of over 800 NHL games had this to say.
No team has made better strides than the @Senators Will contend for playoffs and Giroux will help group grow!! Sens will win CUP before Leafs
This is a bold statement by Barnaby and despite the Senators moves the team is still lacking on their back end. It's hard to believe Pierre Dorion is done with his roster, but it's fair to say the Senators are much closer to the Maple Leafs than when the season ended.
