Former top 10 pick headlines the list of players placed on waivers today
With training camps well into their second week team's are beginning to trim down their rosters in preparation for AHL training camp to begin. Yesterday saw 15 new players placed on waivers, while today's number eclipses that total.
According to Elliotte Friedman, of all the players placed on waivers yesterday, none were claimed by any of the other teams.
Today's list of players has been headlined by the Pittsburgh Penguins placing Alexander Nylander on waivers. Nylander was initially drafted 8th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in 2016. While highly touted like his brother, Alex hasn't been able to breakthrough and find consistency in the NHL.
Among a large group of players placed on NHL waivers today: Malcolm Subban (BUF), William Lagesson (CAR), Oscar Dansk (CGY), Greg McKegg (EDM), Dillon Heatherington (OTT), Drake Caggiula (PIT), Alex Nylander (PIT), Dustin Tokarski (PIT), Kole Lind (SEA), Zach Fucale (WSH). Teams around the NHL will have until noon tomorrow to put claim on any of these players and it will be announced tomorrow at 2 pm if any have been claimed.
