Goalie Goal Alert! Goalie scores a beautiful empty netter
We got a treat that every hockey fan loves to see. It's not often we are treated to the elusive goalie goal so when they happen we love to appreciate then.
This one takes place during the American Hockey League Calder Cup Playoffs.
Joel Hofer, 21, is a St. Louis Blues' prospect. Hofer plays for the Blues' AHL affiliate, Springfield Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds. The goal happened late in a game against the Scranton Penguins.
With the Thunderbirds leading 4-2, Hofer would stopped the puck behind his goal, and decided he had the time, space and the opportunity to go for it and he did!
Hofer fired a shot down the ice, scoring the first goal of his career. He even went as far as to high five his entire bench.
