Insider confirms Connor McDavid is at his breaking point in Edmonton
When the Edmonton Oilers drafted? Connor McDavid it was supposed to be the beginning of a new chapter in the franchise history. The team was expected to be perennial Stanley Cup contenders and some expected them to return to the dynasty days that had labeled Edmonton in the city of Champions. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened.
Instead, since McDavid arrived, the Oilers are now on to their fifth head coach and appear no closer to a Stanley Cup. After this season McDavid has just two years remaining on his current contract and there isn't much light at the end of the tunnel. If that's not bad enough an NHL Insider is reporting that McDavid's attitude has become extremely negative.
According to Jeff Marek, McDavid has officially had enough.
He is legitimately pissed off, he's had it, and he's like legit pissed.
Whether the Oilers are willing to admit it or not their top priority needs to be keeping McDavid happy, because if they're at risk of losing the league's best player, it will only be dark days ahead for the Oilers.
