It's no secret, the Calgary Flames are looking to move their defenders for assets. First it was Nikita Zadorov and now rumours have been circling defensive stalwart, Chris Tanev. What exactly would be the going rate to get him out of Calgary though? It looks like we just found out.
Tanev, who's about to turn 34 in three days, has played in 28 games for the Calgary Flames this season collecting 1 goal and adding 6 assists for a total of points. He of course is known as a defensive defender who blocks shots and likes to lay the body.
There's been a lot of interest in Tanev as of late with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks being mentioned quite a bit. One would have to think of the going rate for Tanev is only a first rounder, surely teams would be lining up to take him off of Calgary's hands. He's been out of the Flames lineup for the past 4 games with an injury though.
