Jaromir Jagr has broken a record Wayne Gretzky held since The Great One retired in 1999. The ageless wonder, a native of Kladno, Czechia scored his 1099 career professional hockey league goal to break Gretzky's record.

While Gretzky had a stint early in his career with the World Hockey Associations Indianapolis Racers and Edmonton Oilers, the majority of his goals occurred while playing for the Oilers after the WHA merged with National Hockey League.
Jagr, who has played parts of four decades in professional hockey scored the majority of his goals while playing for nine different National Hockey League teams, but had stints in the KHL and two different periods in his career with Kladno, which he owns in the Czech league.
