Matthew Tkachuk pulls Nico Hischier out of the pile after things get heated after empty net goal
After having the best season in franchise history last year, the Florida Panthers were hoping to build upon things. Unfortunately for the Panthers this season hasn't been a repeat of last year. The Panthers record sits at 15-15-4 and they sit 5th on the Atlantic.
Tonight the Panthers faced off against the New Jersey Devils. The Panthers headed into the 3rd period leading the game 2-1. The 3rd period ended up being a period the Panthers would like to forget. The Panthers have up 2 goals by the midway point of the period to fall behind 3-2.
Things took a turn to the physical side after Tomas Tatar deposited a puck into an empty net. That's when tempers began to flare.
Somehow from the crowd Matthew Tkachuk manages to emerge from the pile with Nico Hischier. As the two began to separate, Hischier wisely turtles knowing he's outmatched.
