NHL Department of Player Safety punishes Brad Marchand for slashing goalie
The NHL Department of Player Safety is keeping up their reputation of inconsistency. During last night's game between the Carolina Hurricanes and Boston Bruins, forward Brad Marchand slashed Canes' goalie Pyotr Kochetkov.
The slash occured after Kochetkov slashed Marchand and followed that up with another shot. Marchand responded with a simple slash of his own, but George Parros felt it was enough to warrant a fine.
Boston's Brad Marchand has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for Slashing Carolina's Pyotr Kochetkov.
Let's see if this carries over into the next game, but the inconsistency of policing of the players is going to drive players to cross the line.
