New Jersey Devils lose their top free agent addition after major surgery
The New Jersey Devils will be without forward Ondrej Palat for an extended period of time after he underwent successful groin surgery. He was placed on IR, retroactive to Oct. 24.
Palat has missed the past two games with a lower-body injury and has not participated in any of the practices or morning skates.
The 31 years old, joined the Devils this past off-season after spending a decade with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Palat signed a five-year deal with an AAV of $6 million.
In 6 games played this season, Palat has 3 goals. He had been playing primarily on the top line.
