Paul Stastny signs a team friendly deal with Eastern Conference contender
Paul Stasnty is still chasing that elusive Stanley Cup, but the 36-year-old is clearly rubbing out of opportunities. Now it seems that Stasnty has decided to leave the Winnipeg Jets, and sign with an Eastern Conference contender.
Today it was announced that Stastny has come to an agreement on a 1 year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes.
Stastny will help fill the void created by the loss of Max Pacioretty to injury. Stasnty will also add significant depth to the Hurricanes upon Patches return.
Last season with the Winnipeg Jets, Stasnty scored 21 goals and added 24 assists in 721 games. With the Jets likely entering a rebuild Stasnty clearly didn't like his chances of capturing a Cup in Winnipeg.
