Hockey is a physical and that should never change. But hockey has rules and a code, that was once followed for a reason. Whenever the play is active players should do everything possible to give their team an advantage. Unfortunately, San Jose Sharks prospect Artem Guryev took things too far.
During a recent Ontario Hockey Leauge game at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena, the Sarnia Sting faced off against the Flint Firebirds. With about a minute left in the third period of a 7-3 Sting win, San Jose Sharks draft pick and Flint Defeceman Artem Guryev cheap shotted Sarnia forward and Toronto Maple Leafs Draft pick, Ty Voit. The hit came against a defenseless Voit who had just scored a goal and wasn't expecting any sort of hit, so he was unable to protect himself.
