The Calgary Flames have been forced to make some changes this off-season, changes most fans likely didn't expect. After losing their top two players this off-season the organization was forced to pivot in their plans. But somehow it appears that General Manager, Brad Treliving may have pulled a rabbit out of his hat and somehow made the Flames a better team despite losing Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk.
Brad Treliving did everything in his power to try and re-sign Gaudreau, but at the final moment Gaudreau informed him he had no interest in staying. This timeline didn't even allow the Flames to try and workout a deal to move Gaudreau for assets.
Luckily for the Flames, Matthew Tkachuk would inform them of his intentions to leave, which allowed the Flames to maximize their return for him via trade.
