Team provides update on 18-year-old player who suffered a seizure after being body checked
On Sunday afternoon, Soo Greyhounds defenseman, Luc Brzustowski suffered a medical emergency after striking his head on the ice after a hit. The hit occurred during the second period, and was delivered by Ottawa Senators' prospect Tyler Boucher.
The following video is difficult to watch and we do warn anyone who is squeamish.
The Greyhounds issued this update today.
Following the events of this past Sunday, October 30 at Ottawa, the Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club would like to provide an update on defenceman Luc Brzustowski.
Luc has been released from hospital and is now recovering back in Sault Ste. Marie.
We would like to thank Athletic Therapist's Julian Cooper (Soo) and Marie-Pierre Neron (Ottawa), OSEG Staff, 67s Team Doctor Dr. Paul Shim, Ottawa Paramedic Service and The Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus for their assistance during and following this incident along with their professionalism, kindness and care.
To the fans whom have sent along well-wishes and inquiries, your support and thoughts of Luc are greatly appreciated.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with Brzustowski and his friends, family and teammates as he hopefully battles back from this injury.
