The NHL and Arizona Coyotes ownership group have been fighting tooth and nail to try and secure a deal that would keep the Coyotes in Arizona. Yesterday Gary Bettman even signed an agreement that the NHL would not relocate the team for 30-years, if council approved the deal. The league also agreed to host an All-Star Game and an upcoming draft at the location, once completed.
During yesterday's City Council meeting both sides for and against the development argued their case. With City Council having the final say on whether to proceed with negotiations. After presentations by both sides, and plenty of deliberation, Council reached a decision.
