During Saturday night's important Atlantic Division matchup between the first place Florida Panthers and second place Toronto Maple Leafs, things got heated.
In the second period, Leafs forward Ilya Mikheyev landed a hit on Sam Bennett. Bennett took exception to the hit and followed Mikheyev up the ice. Eventually the two dropped the gloves.
Mikheyev does not have a fighting major currently on his NHL resume. This year he only has 20 PIM in 49 games. This technically did not go down as a fight has the two were given 4 minutes for roughing. Mikheyev will have to wait to get his first fighting major.
