Zach Hyman's dad implicated in GTHL investigation
The Greater Toronto Hockey League better known as the GTHL has come under fire in recent years for the way some clubs operate behind closed doors, now a full investigation has been launched.
The investigation has been launched to into business dealings dating back to 2004, involving Zach Hyman's dad, Stuart, take a look:
old news, but love to see it.
@Mark_Grimes was after the GTHL for years he motioned for the City of Toronto's investigation into the state of minor hockey, in particular the financial operations of teams "owed" by Stuart Hyman and other @GTHLHockey teams 19 years ago.
The GTHL is looking into the business dealings behind closed doors amid cries from the public to make their books public.
If a major figure like the Hyman's are involved, things just got a whole lot more complicated for Zach as he continues to play in the NHL.
This investigation alleges that teams are being bought and sold off the books for millions of dollars, something that is not allowed under the GTHL rules.
All GTHL clubs are supposed to be not for profit organizations, but there are some that generate quite the annual revenue according to TSN's Rick Westhead
If there is indeed dealings that take place off the books as suggested, the largest minor hockey organization in Canada certainly has a lot of explaining to do
