Judge in Sean Higgins case makes decision on when he could be release
The Judge in the case of Sean Higgins has made his decision on when he could be released today
Last week Sean Higgins appear in court where he showed no remorse for his involvement in the deaths of both Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. Instead Higgins was more concerned about the fact he'd have to remain in jail until Thursday over a long weekend. This morning Higgins got his day in court, but it didn't turn out how he'd hoped.
While Higgins had initially hoped that today he'd be granted freedom, instead he found himself remanded back into custody. Today the judge made the decision that Higgins would remain in jail until September 13th. This would give his attorney and the court, the time for file additional documents.
Higgins, who is innocent until proven guilty, is facing up to 20 years in prison as he faces two counts of vehicular homicide. This high profile tragedy continues to have far reaching impacts around the hockey world and continues to see daily tributes.
Today it was announced that the Gaudreau Brothers will be laid to rest Monday in a private ceremony in New Jersey just four days before Higgins next hearing.
