While no name has officially been chosen, a filing at the US Patent Office highlights some potential names for the NHL's newest team in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The filings were all done anonymously, and include five names meant to be trademarked for clothing. They are Utah Blizzard, Utah Venom, Utah Fury, Utah HC, Utah Hockey Club.
Blizzard makes sense, as Utah is know for it's ski hills that get plenty of snow. It's average annual snowfall is 270 inches. As for Venom, Utah has a number of animal species that are poisonous. That includes scorpions, rattlesnakes, brown recluse spiders, blister beetles, and the hobo spider. Moving on to Fury, I'm not sure if this is connected to the state's history in some way, or whether it's just a fairly generic potential nickname.
