The New Jersey Devils may have their goalie, as they've acquired Jake Allen from the Montreal Canadiens.

At this time, no details of the trade have been shared. However, as you can see, Insider Elliotte Friedman broke the news moments ago.

The Devils, who have underperformed this season have run through Nico Daws, Akira Schmid and Vitek Vabecek to this point. This move gives the Devils flexibility to send one of of their younger netminders to the minors. Allen has six, wins, with a 3.65 GAA and a .892 save percentage.

Whether Allen can help the Devils right, the ship is yet to be determined, but he does bring a veteran presence and will be able to prove himself long-term as he has one year left on a deal that will pay him $3.8 million.
