The Trade Deadline has arrived, and the San Jose Sharks continue their flurry of trades with another move today.
After holding out forward Luke Kunin from last night's game against the Colorado Avalanche, the Sharks have traded him to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Kunin joins a Blue Jackets team that currently occupies one of the pair of Wild Card playoff spots in the Eastern Conference.
He's played in 63 games this year, scoring 18 points (11G, 7A).
Kunin, who has previously played for the Minnesota Wild and Nashville Predators, was taken with the 15th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by Minnesota.
He's also the 2nd depth forward that the Blue Jackets have picked up as they make their way toward trying to earn a postseason spot; they claimed bottom-6 forward Christian Fischer off the waiver wire from the Detroit Red Wings yesterday afternoon.
For the Sharks, it's their latest trade in what has been an extremely busy last several days for general manager Mike Grier. Defenseman Jake Walman was shipped to the Edmonton Oilers late last night, while Vitek Vanecek was traded to the defending champion Florida Panthers.
Additionally, both Cody Ceci and Mikael Granlund were traded to the Dallas Stars, while Grier also sent Nico Sturm to the Panthers in a separate deal from Vanacek.
