The Pittsburgh Penguins are entering a very strange time for the franchise. The team is no longer good enough to compete and make the playoffs, but still have multiple effective veterans like Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang under contract. The Penguins are expected to trade forward Jake Guentzel in the next 22 hours, and now the talk has turned to captain Sidney Crosby.
Rumors began to swirl that Crosby's name was now beginning to be connected to the Colorado Avalanche. Now according to Incarcerated Bob, it appears that Sidney Crosby would also be willing to accept a trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
It's clear that at this point Crosby wants to ensure that he has another chance at winning a Stanley Cup. If Crosby were to move to the Leafs it would be for a significant haul that would completely reshape both teams. It's also an interesting concept, given Dubas' history with the Leafs, there are likely multiple players in the Leafs' system that he would covet.
