Panthers' head coach Paul Maurice also shared his thoughts on Marchand's acquisition, saying it was surprising news to hear but he is excited about the player's arrival.
He also provided details on Marchand's injury, the former Bruins captain's rivalry with the Panthers, and the locker room connections that will need to be made to succeed in the playoffs:
"He will come in here, and we'll get our doctors to look at him to understand what the injury is."
"Brad Marchand comes in here, and there's a history with the Florida Panthers. But there's a great history because he, Sam Bennett, and Sam Reinhart played on a team together that had great success."

In 61 games this season, Marchand tallied 47 points, including 21 goals. He won't make his Panthers debut right away as he recovers from an injury sustained on March 1st in a game against the Penguins.
