Nikita Zadorov Clarifies Recent Comments That Hinted At A Major Rift In The Bruins Locker Room

Over the weekend, the Boston Bruins were destroyed 7-2 by the Los Angeles Kings, and late in the game, we saw Jeremy Swayman attempt to fight his opposing goaltender Darcy Kuemper.

Many saw that as him standing up for his team, but after the game defenseman Nikita Zadorov was asked about exactly that, replying with 'is that what that was? No comment', which drew plenty of intriguing around the league.

Unsurprisingly, many outlets online speculated that after the summer, Swayman had to win his teammates over in the locker room, and it likely would have come up at points between them in the last few days.

Now, the veteran blue liner has addressed his comments, confirming that it wasn't personal and shouldn't be made into more than it was, as he notes that he was simply frustrated after the massive defeat.

He would go on to say that he was caught by surprise with the question from the reporters on the day, and as a locker room leader, he stood in front of those comments and simply shut down speculation of any rift with the team.

Heading into a summer where the Bruins have many changes to make, we will see whether or not this is the truth, as there has since been speculation that they could trade Swayman in the summer, but if that does happen, it won't be a comment from Zadorov that leads to that.
