Former NHLer Calls Out The League For Lack Of Discipline To Jalen Chatfield

Jalen Chatfield performed a very dangerous act on Wednesday, but after getting no discipline, the NHL has been called out, with a former NHLer joining the criticism.
This drew plenty of backlash from fans, as the expectation was that Chatfield would, at the very least be given a fine or a one-game suspension, but the Department of 'Player Safety' decided that on this occasion, player safety was not indeed a priority.
Now, former NHLer John Scott has taken to social media to call the league out, calling the move from Chatfield 'gutless' with 'intent to injure', and watching the video, it's hard to argue with his assessment.
The NHL did not make a statement on the situation, despite many calling for an explanation as to why this move that clearly put a player in danger did not warrant any further discipline, and despite all of the backlash, it's unclear if we'll ever hear from George Parros or Gary Bettman.
It's not just Scott calling out the play from Chatfield however, as there was plenty of outrage on social media from fans that saw a players safety clearly put in danger, with the league turning a blind eye.
Ultimately though, there's nothing that can be done after the NHL's decision was made, but given that the Department is literally made to take care of the players safety, it's absolutely despicable that they have allowed Chatfield to get away with this play with absolutely no discipline at all.
