The latest Battle of Alberta was delayed by a few minutes due to an incident with a fan, and now we know more about the scary situation in the crowd in Edmonton.

After just a few minutes of play on Saturday night, the latest matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames was delayed, with reports that it was a medical emergency in the crowd that was stopping play, with everyone in the building on and off the ice holding their breath for the fan.
While no details were found during the broadcast, one source has now revealed just how scary the situation became when one fan seemingly suffered a heart attack going down the stairs.
"We didn't see anything.

The Oilers had just been given a penalty and before the faceoff, the coaches rushed toward a fan who was apparently descending the stairs and suffered an apparent heart attack.

He was taken by ambulance after receiving CPR."

The most scary part of all was revealed by some witnesses in the crowd, who noted that the fan fell between 18 and 20 stairs before they were stopped, at which point the Oilers medical staff jumped in and helped the fan.
"I'm at the game and it wasn't pretty to see, the fan had a medical episode and fell 18 to 20 rows before someone could stop him..

The Oilers' training staff or doctor was on the scene immediately."
This situation immediately became much bigger than hockey, with many fans in the crowd going into a silence out of respect for the fan, with the medical staff and paramedics jumping in quickly to help the fan.
It was an incredibly scary situation that was seemingly handled well by all medical staff involved, and we would like to send our thoughts and prayers to the fan and hope for a very positive outcome moving forward.
