Hockey World Pays Tribute To Incredible Edmonton Oilers Personality Bruce McCurdy

The NHL world is filled with many incredible personalities and reporters that cover the game, and none in the very competitive market in Edmonton were as beloved and respected as Bruce McCurdy.

The 'Cult of Hockey' star for the Edmonton Journal brought in an incredible, loyal audience over the years, and his content was as good as any in the sport, but this week, he tragically passed away in shocking circumstances.

That came from his son, who often appeared on his programs, with an outpouring of love and support coming on social media, particularly from those in the same space in Edmonton.

The final tweet before McCurdy tragically passed was unsurprisingly in support of his Edmonton Oilers, who he loved and supported and covered with all of his heart, with the outpouring of love showing just how respected and beloved he was in the community.

Despite going through such a tragic experience, his son Kevin has chosen to make this about something much bigger than his family, and instead of asking for flowers or donations of any kind to his family, he has encouraged fans to donate instead to the Ben Stelter Foundation, a cause that was close to his heart and the heart of all Oilers fans.
