NHL analyst Frank Corrado shared his thoughts on Anthony Duclair stepping aside from the New York Islanders.

Wednesday night, Islanders head coach Patrick Roy laid into veteran forward Anthony Duclair.
He was brutal and honest in his typical fashion, laying into the 29-year-old in his post-game comments.
The coach made it clear that he was not happy with the effort level from the player, saying he was lucky to even be in the lineup.
"He (Duclair) was god-awful. He had a bad game. That's why I didn't play him a lot. He is lucky to be in the lineup. Sorry if I lose it on him right now, but that's just how I feel. He's not skating, he's not competing, he's not moving his feet. He's not playing up to what we expect from him. ... I think it's an effort thing."

This outburst is perhaps not all that surprising considering Roy's history of being brutally honest with his players.
The following day, it was revealed that Duclair would take an indefinite leave of absence from the club after a long, private conversation with Roy.
Today, NHL analyst Frank Corrado shared his thoughts on the situation, noting how important mental health is.
He expressed gratitude that Duclair did the right thing to take care of himself, setting an example for other players that it is okay to do so.
"Listen, we don't know what people are going through, obviously. And you know, like, there's, there's just this, this mental health component, which everyone is has a right to and is entitled to and like we always say to people, if you're struggling, get help. So whether there's a game or not, or if it's you know, you just, you got to take care of yourself."

Duclair has struggled mightily this season, appearing in just 44 games, collecting just 7 goals and 11 points.
For reference, he had 24 goals and 42 points in 73 games last season split between the Sharks and Lightning.
Hopefully Duclair can resolve whatever is bothering him at the moment and he will be able to rejoin the Islanders before the end of the season.
As always though, some things are more important in life than hockey.
