Rangers sign former first-overall pick to multi-year deal
New York Rangers fans have finally gotten the news they've been waiting all summer for.
According to Larry Brooks of the New York Post, the Rangers have signed former first-overall pick Alexis Lafreniere to a two-year contract extension worth $4.65 million ($2.325 million AAV).
Lafreniere, 21, appeared in 81 games for the Rangers last season where he tallied 39 points (16 goals, 23 assists), 33 penalty minutes and was a plus-ten. In seven Stanley Cup Playoff games, he had no points as the Rangers lost in the first round to the New Jersey Devils.
