Peter Laviolette, coach of the New York Rangers, is on the hot seat after his team suffered what is being called one of the worst losses of the season to Calgary.

Now, there are calls for coach Peter Laviolette to be given the boot as the Rangers look like they "don't give a damn."
Those are the words of former NFLer turned sports analyst Boomer Esiason of the New York radio station WFAN, who said the Rangers looked completely disconnected and disinterested in their 2-1 loss to the Flames.
"This coach has got to go. I always want to be somewhat respectful to how difficult it is to deal with all of the players. But you can tell the players either don't give a damn, or something is amiss within the body of the team. It has been amiss since they lost last year to the Florida Panthers in the playoffs."
Laviolette's first year with the Rangers was excellent, as the team went 55-23-0 in the regular season and made it to the third round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs before falling to Florida.
This year is much different, as the team sports a record of 33-30-0 so far, leaving fans disgruntled.
Last night was a chance for the Rangers to get into the last wild card spot in the East with 13 games left on the season.
Instead, the team struggled as the Montreal Canadiens ended the Ottawa Senators' six game winning streak with a 6-3 victory to put themselves in that final wild card spot.
