Even if this didn't result in a game misconduct, it would have made it to the NHL Department of Player Safety's review room anyway. Getting ejected from the game just makes it mandatory.
Brenden Dillon of the Winnipeg Jets has been ejected from tonight's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins after a clear shot right to the head of Noel Acciari. Acciari has left the game and has not yet returned. Dillon was given a five minute major for an illegal check to the head, as well as the game misconduct.
Unless Dillon can somehow prove this wasn't his fault, I don't see any way he avoids at least a one or two game suspension. we'll have to wait for official word from Player Safety.
